“I approach my work through observation and intuition, taking inspiration from fortuitous discoveries, my backyard studio, and world wide back-packing travels.”
A diverse two-dimensional artist, Nancy Hamlin-Vogler’s passion for contemporary art is evident in her mixed media works on paper, rendering still life, studio ephemera, landscape and figurative subjects in her signature gestural and abstracted style. Nancy’s favorite materials include drawing implements, acrylic and oil paints, charcoal, pastels, pasted rice paper and recycled silkscreened paper elements. Her works are featured in juried art shows as well as in regional invitational exhibitions. She has won numerous awards and is in public and private collections throughout the United States.
“My greeting cards inspire thoughtful communication.”
After finishing graduate school with an M.A. in French Literature, Nancy developed an infatuation with the silkscreen printing process, designed a line of colorful greeting cards, and formed Eastern Sun Printworks. Thirty-five years and five “Louie Finalist” awards later, her iconic card images, featuring orbs and blended background mindscapes, are still carried in stores nationwide and sought after by card aficionados. Her entire card line is available at Butterfield Garage.
