Butterfield Garage Art Gallery presents the 25th Anniversary Exhibition with past members joining current members for a veritable Who’s Who in the local art scene and beyond. This reunion of well-established fine artistshighlights the vibrancy and resiliency that exists in St. Augustine’s arts community.

Former Energy Lab artist, Tiffany, will be our seated model with still life.
Enjoy an afternoon of making art together in front of the gallery.
Bring materials, drop cloth and easel, whatever you need (you can set up early).
Silk Screen Demo
Saturday, October 19th, 1- 4 pm
Nancy Hamlin-Vogler and former Butterfield artists Maribel Angel and Angie Ullmann.
Watch and learn as they talk about various aspects of this popular printmaking process,
as well as give a hands on demo, printing the Butterfield Garage logo on various substrates.

About Butterfield Garage Art Gallery
Established in February 1999, Butterfield Garage Art Gallery is the brainchild of artist Jan Miller. Her vision was to create an artist-run gallery for professional artists that would encourage creative experimentation. Miller brought with her the experience of over 40 years as a successful professional artist. Having been a former member of ARC Cooperative in Chicago, Jan wanted to create a similar collective here in her new home. Her plan was to bring together the best artists in the area, who would share expenses, management, and operation of the gallery. The gallery opened its doors in February 1999.
For 25 years now, the Butterfield Garage Art Gallery has provided its artists with the chance to grow and take advantage of opportunities that may come their way through exposure in a professional gallery. And we continue to this day, true to the gallery’s original mission: to be a leader in the presentation of traditional and contemporary visual arts in Northeast Florida, and to encourage the experience of direct accessibility and dialogue between artists and their customers.

Under the Same Sky Features Multiple Butterfield Members
Congrats to Martha Ferguson, Nikki Rakov, Eric Rakov, and Paula Pascucci for their inclusion in the Under the Same Sky exhibit as part of the 100-year celebration of St. Augustine's Sister City Relationship with Aviles, Spain.
Martha was selected to accompany the Mayoral delegation visit to Aviles, Spain, in August 2024 to present her painting as a gift on behalf of St. Augustine. Nikki was awarded an honorable mention for her entry in the exhibit. Paula is shown here with her interpretation of the sculpture, "La Monstrua" by the Spanish artist Favila.
Under the Same Sky is now on view at the St. Johns County Admin Building through October 31, 2024.
Member Mary Shaw Awarded Artist Residency
Congrats to Butterfield member Mary Shaw who was recently awarded a residency and spent a week at Wildacres Retreat Center in North Carolina. The focus of her project was to study the poetry of Spaniard Antonio Machado (1875 - 1939) and create artwork in book form inspired by his words. She completed an accordion fold book while in residence and also wrote poetry of her own. Mary was one of 70 applicants chosen from a field of over 270.
