I am fascinated by the interconnectedness of our world. For the past 25 years my work has primarily focused on the water cycle. For me it is easily the most visual representation of that concept. Whatever imagery I choose, however, I try to keep that interconnectedness as my core inspiration.
Our physical world is atoms, molecules, cells, systems within systems. Our biome is worlds within worlds. Water travels through everything, carrying all of this in its wake. Florida’s porous ground and humid climate is rife with inspiration for me.
A Floridian since 1964, I was a child in the Florida Keys at a time when Lobsters, conch and fish of all types were astonishingly abundant. I have lived in many parts of the state, and St. Augustine has been my home since 1996.
I received my Bachelors in Visual Arts from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg FL, attended a semester of Graduate studies in Cortona, Italy through University of Georgia, and have been painting professionally for over 30 years.
